Gejang(=gejeot) is one of the salted&fermented seafood cuisines in Korean, which is made by marinating fresh raw crabs either in ganjang (=soy sauce) or in a sauce based on chili pepper powder.
Two main Gejang are like followings
1) Ganjang gejang - Soy sauce fermented raw crabs
2) Yangnyeom-gejang - Chili sauce raw crabs
We call these as "The thief of rice"
Chew and feel the umami raw flesh and Mix them with boiled rice ! Then you would realize the meaning of it. 😉
