Main ingredient
- Dark soybean paste (Doenjang, 된장) 2T
- Chilli paste (Gochujang, 고추장) 1T
- Sesame seed oil (Cham-gi-reum, 참기름) 1T
Sub ingredient
- Chopped green chilli (medium spiciness) 1~2ea
- Minced garlic 2/3T (Optional, only for higher level Ssamjang lover)

Is Ssamjang good with only meat?
No. Ssamjang was actually created for Ssam originally. What is Ssam? That's a term for general green wraps in Korean food world. Even when you force yourself to eat vegetables for health, Ssamjang will amuse your mouth with its healthy savory taste. Do you eat cucumber? carrot? no problem. Go with Ssamjang! (Well, my go-to veggie with Ssamjang is steamed cabbage.)
Caution
- If you are not used to hot sauce, DO NOT add miced garlic & chopped green chilli. You will be okay with top 3 main ingredients I bet.
- You could earn garlic breath with this recipe ;) You can skip garlic when you have important meetings after eating Ssamjang.
