Sweet & Spicy Stir fried Rice cake recipe | TTeokbokki
Tteokbokki is one of the Koreans' most popular public foods like Pizza for Italians, or Hamburger for Americans. There is no one who hasn't eaten this food - no exceptions for the president, BTS or Minho Lee.
What is Tteok-bo-kki
Have you been curious about a certain red food that many Korean celebrities enjoy on TV shows? That might be a chilli paste based rice cake cuisine cooked on a pan. It is one of the Koreans' go-to street foods. People eat it as a meal substitute, snack, night food or even as alcohol food.
If you master Tteokbokki, I promise you are used to the major food style of Korea. Also, this food can be a pretty accessible pasta substitute when you travel in Korea, because you could find street vendors cooking Tteokbokki no matter which market you might go to.
How is Tteokbokki taste like
Are you good at a little bit of spiciness such as "sweet chilli sauce"?. The taste of Tteobokki sauce is not exactly the same as sweet chilli sauce, yet they are in the same family I guess. So to say, tasty Tteokbokki sauce is a "golden balance of chilli paste(Gochujang), soy sauce and sugar"
On top of that, healthy rice cakes give soft & chewy texture in the mixture of sweetness & spiciness. Additionally, savory fish cake and fresh fragrance of green onion enrich the taste.
